Lockdown Survival …

Lockdown Survival …

We’re well into week 5 of lockdown, and where has the time gone? We planned to write this blog in week 1, mainly as a diary for ourselves to look back on in years to come and to remind ourselves of these strange times. Good old week 1 – when we got excited about colour coding the snazzy new weekly planner pad that landed on the doormat, full of activities to entertain and stimulate our little cubs while they missed their nursery friends, tuned into Joe Wicks, planned to nail potty training, and we held them back from Daddy’s video conference calls.

Well, that lasted until Wednesday of week 1! We’re now well and truly into the rhythm of not really having a routine. Mr Cotswold Baby Co. number 1 spent the first half of April working in his ski gear in the freezing garage, and having to wee in a bucket so that Henry didn’t realise he’s working from home. Meanwhile Mr Cotswold Baby Co. number 2 is like a rocket with his mute button, now used to Flo, (in full on Elsa outfit) announcing that it’s snack time, and that he also needs to choose his toy for show and tell!

Joe Wicks didn’t ever get a second date, we are baking, (and then immediately eating) a LOT of cakes, conjuring up wild obstacle courses through the paddling pool (how nice was the weather this weekend?), washing endless pairs of soggy pants, gawping in amazement at the price of poster paint on Amazon, and settling down in the afternoons for ‘film time’ (nap time for Mama) courtesy of the Disney channel. Evenings are spent on competitive Zoom family quizzes, and packing all your lovely orders – thank you so much for continuing to support our business during these tough times – it really does cheer us up!

20% off all full price items

As a little thank you, we’re offering 20% off all full price items until the end of April – just add code ‘LOCKDOWN20’ at checkout to redeem :).

We have also been keeping our little cubs entertained with ideas from My House Rocks, which is a website jam-packed with online classes and activities for little cubs. One of these is Busy Lizzy Cheltenham, run by fellow Cheltenham Mumboss member Amy, Mum of two & fellow Cotswold resident!

This new business launched in March 2020 with a fab weekly timetable of fitness classes for pregnant ladies, new mums and some lovely baby classes too. Amy is so passionate about offering something for mums-to-be and new mums in the Cheltenham area – something to be part of that keeps you fit, enables you to meet other like minded mums and gives that community that we all need, and these classes will be back up and running as soon as they can.

Busylizzy LIVE

In the meantime, Busylizzy LIVE launched swiftly when lockdown kicked in, and  combined with the other Busy Lizzy clubs, there are now 21 live classes every week (7 days per week) for members across the country, allowing them to join the classes live or catch up later when they can. The timetable includes pregnancy Yoga & Pilates, 4 different types of postnatal fitness classes plus classes for babies and toddlers too!

They also hold 2 or 3 expert talks each week covering topics such as Baby Sleep, Weaning, Hypnobirthing – all have had amazing feedback and allow members to ask questions direct to the experts themselves – all from the comfort of your own home.

Amy is offering Cotswold Baby Co. customers 10% off your 1st month membership using promo code ‘Cotswold10’. For more info on virtual membership visit the website here – https://busylizzycheltenham.co.uk/

Keep safe, keep sane and thanks for continuing to support our little business 🙂
