Last week we gathered 12 Little Cubs and headed to Roves Farm for a photoshoot to showcase our lovely new spring ‘At the Farm’ and ‘Pony’ collection. Luckily the sun made an effort to appear, and we had a great day climbing on hay bales and running after ducks, while our favourite local photographer, Joanna Osborne snapped away, (https://www.joannaosbornephotography.com).
Situated in Sevenhampton, just outside of Swindon, we are Roves Farm regulars, and really like the setting and facilities at this family-run working farm, so were thrilled when they said yes to hosting us. Open to visitors all year round, it has a great programme of events to entertain your little ones both in term time, school holidays & at the weekends. With indoor barns housing rabbits, chickens and goats, children can feed and cuddle the animals, before exploring the farm on a tractor ride. The heated indoor soft play and activity barn is huge!…our favourite area is the mini ride-on tractors, where the little cubs were racing and pushing each other around!
It’s also nice that babies and toddlers are made to feel so welcome with daily toddler time, including stories, bubbles, singing and games. Check out their full website for a full and updated list of what’s on.
But back to the photoshoot…. Katie, the Visitor Manager, and her team were very welcoming, and little cub Arabella remembered Margaret, who drove the big tractor on our last visit! Florence loved tickling the 4 day old piglets, and was giggling at their little curly tails. We all had great fun meeting the new month old lambs (the next wave of lambing is 15th-30th April, make sure you go and see them in their barn!), and poor Jo had a few sheep’s bottoms in shot that will need editing! Babies Jasper, Florrie and Madison, our newest recruits, were the stars of the show and smiled throughout the day in their farmyard themed playsuits – no milky buttons required!
Meanwhile, Erin showcased our tractor leggings by getting stuck in with the boys investigating the big yellow digger, and the girls were fascinated by the tractors driving back and forth.
We finished the day with a run around the soft play zone, a big slice of chocolate cake at the lovely café (jacket potatoes are also scrummy for lunch), and a trip to the new farm shop – we really enjoyed our Venison sausages for tea!
We are already planning our next visit with Daddy, and look forward to working with the great team at Roves Farm in the future.
